Blaze TV’s Glenn Beck urged older Americans to do their patriotic duty and go return to their jobs in order to save their country and the U.S. economy, even though the elderly represent a much higher risk category of dying from the coronavirus.
“I sincerely hope that we are not at a place, as Americans, where we are going to let the Democrats jam down the Green New Deal because we’re at home panicked,” the right-wing host said during Tuesday’s episode of The Glenn Beck Program. “I want to have a frank conversation with you and ask you where you stand.”
“I mean, I’m in the danger zone,” he said. “I’m right at the edge, I’m 56. In Italy, they’re saying if you’re sick and your 60, don’t even come in.”
“So, I’m in the danger zone,” he said. “I would rather have my children stay home and all of us who are over 50 go in and keep this economy going and working, even if we all get sick, I would rather die than kill the country. ‘Cause it’s not the economy that’s dying, it’s the country.”

Beck’s remarks come a day after Texas Lt. Gov Dan Patrick suggested to Fox News host Tucker Carlson that some senior citizens would be willing to sacrifice their lives to the new coronavirus in order to save the economy for their kids and grandchildren.
President Trump late Sunday night unleashed an all-caps Twitter rant declaring: “WE CANNOT LET THE CURE BE WORSE THAN THE PROBLEM ITSELF,” Trump tweeted. “AT THE END OF THE 15 DAY PERIOD, WE WILL MAKE A DECISION AS TO WHICH WAY WE WANT TO GO!”
