On Thursday morning’s edition of Fox & Friends, host Brian Kilmeade offered NRA spokesperson Dana Loesch his sympathies over the harsh treatment she received at CNN’s gun violence town hall last week from the “emotional” and “illogical” survivors of the February 14 Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School massacre.
“No one had it worse than you in that town hall,” said show co-host Brian Kilmeade. “People were just so emotional and illogical. They were unconsolable [sic].”
Loesch staunchly defended the NRA’s pro-gun positions during the CNN Town Hall, fighting back tough questions by survivors and family members of the school shooting in Parkland, Florida that left 17 dead.
A day after the CNN town hall, Loesch addressed conservatives at CPAC where she accused the media of celebrating mass shooting.
“Many in legacy media love mass shootings. You guys love it,” she said “Crying white mothers are ratings gold”.
As ThinkProgress notes:
Kilmeade’s comments are not the first instance of a Fox News personality attacking Parkland survivors. On February 21, The Five host Greg Gutfeld offered some unsolicited “advice” to the students.
“You’ve got to beware of when other groups co-opt your protest,” he warned, echoing a right-wing smear campaign against the students that originated on pro-Trump blogs.
