MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” co-host Joe Scarborough said on Monday that President Trump doesn’t have the attention span to even “collude with a ham sandwich,” much less the Russians.
The former GOP congressman was discussing reports that Trump has told aides he won’t be swept up into special counsel Robert Mueller’s Russia probe.
“I don’t think he has the attention span to conduct a full-blown conspiracy,” Scarborough said.
“I think he could by mistake,” co-host Mika Brzezinksi responded.
“The man can’t collude with a ham sandwich right now,” Scarborough said. “His attention span does not allow him to do that.”
The Hill added:
Washington Post editor Eugene Robinson argued that Trump could accidentally stumble into collusion “if he sees this shiny object, this advantage, that he could lunge at.”
Scarborough, a frequent critic of Trump, said earlier Monday that Trump wasn’t joking when he suggested the U.S. should consider allowing a “president for life.”
