Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (R) on Thursday falsely claimed that there have been zero COVID-19 deaths in the United States of anyone under the age of 25 “for whatever reason.”
“The data has been 100% consistent,” DeSantis told reporters during a coronavirus education meeting. “I’ve not seen any deviation on that.”

According to the CDC’s Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report published on Monday, “three deaths were reported among the pediatric cases (persons aged <18 years)” in their analysis of confirmed COVID-19 deaths reported between February 12–April 2, 2020.
The CDC’s Provisional Death Counts for Coronavirus Disease reports at least 5 deaths of persons under the age of 24 in the U.S.
