Finnish President Sauli Niinistö appeared to swat at President Donald Trump’s hand during their Oval Office meeting.
Trump used the meeting to rail against the “dishonest” and “corrupt” media’s coverage of his call to the Ukrainian president.
“We have the most of the dishonest media you can imagine and you should be ashamed of yourselves,” Trump told reporters. “I think I’ve answered most of your questions.”
When a reporter asked what the U.S. could learn from Finland, Trump reached out to touch the foreign leader’s knee.
“Finland is a happy country,” Trump said, patting Niinistö’s knee. Niinistö appeared to swat away Trump’s hand seconds later.
“You got rid of Pelosi and you got rid of shifty Schiff,” Trump said. “Finland is a happy country and he’s a happy leader, too.”

Trump also told reporters during the meeting that House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff (D-CA) “couldn’t carry” Secretary of State Mike Pompeo’s jockstrap.
“We don’t call him Shifty Schiff for nothing, he’s a shifty, dishonest guy, who by the way, was critical of one of the great secretaries of states, graduated number one in his class at West Point, graduated one of the top in his class at Harvard Law School — the most honorable person,” Trump told reporters at the White House on Wednesday.
“You know, there’s an expression, he couldn’t carry his ‘blank’ strap, I won’t say it because they’ll say it was so terrible to say, but that guy couldn’t carry his ‘blank’ strap, do you understand that?” Trump said, meaning jockstrap. The phrase is an expression meaning that one person’s ability to do something isn’t as great as another person’s.
Trump also took credit for coming up with the term “fake news.”
“Okay? I don’t even use Fake [News] anymore. I call the Fake News now Corrupt News because Fake [News] isn’t tough enough and I’m the one that came up with the term and I’m very proud of it,” Trump falsely claimed.
