Federal Judge Rejects Trump’s Request To Review Materials Seized In Cohen FBI Raid

Judge Kimba Wood of Federal District Court in Manhattan rejected an attempt by President Trump and his longtime personal lawyer, Michael D. Cohen, to stop prosecutors in Manhattan from reviewing materials seized in FBI raids on Mr. Cohen’s office, home, hotel room and safe deposit box, reports The New York Times.

Cohen’s legal team had asked for a temporary restraining order so that they could review all materials and then turn over to prosecutors those that were “responsive, non-privileged items.”

Wood ordered the government to create a database of what was taken from Cohen and share it with his legal team, according to The Associated Press.

Wood did indicate that she was considering appointing a neutral third party known as a “special master” to assist prosecutors if and when they review documents seized in the raids to sift out privileged materials.
