The FBI Agents Association, a group representing thousands of current and former FBI agents, fired back at President Trump on Saturday after he vowed to get rid of the “lingering stench” at the FBI.
“As we have said, Attacks on our character and demeaning comments about the FBI will not deter Agents from continuing to do what we have always done—dedicate our lives to protecting the American people,” the FBI Agents Association tweeted Saturday morning.

The FBI agents group issued the tweet shortly after Trump attacked the Department of Justice (DOJ) and FBI at a campaign rally in Missouri on Friday evening, vowing to get rid of the “stench” at the department.
“Look what’s being exposed at the Department of Justice and the FBI. You have some real bad ones. You see what’s happening at the FBI — they’re all gone, they’re all gone,” he said.
“But there’s a lingering stench and we’re going to get rid of that too,” Trump added.
On Wednesday, Trump denounced the FBI once again, describing the bureau’s probe into Russian ties to the Trump campaign as a “cancer in our country.”
In an interview with The Hill, Trump said that he believes exposing corruption within the FBI could be one of the “crowning achievements” of his administration.
“I hope to be able to put this up as one of my crowning achievements that I was able to… expose something that is truly a cancer in our country,” Trump said.
“What we’ve done is a great service to the country, really,” Trump added.
