Former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright ripped President Trump on Wednesday for promoting his New Jersey golf course during a speech to South Korean lawmakers.
While delivering a major speech to South Korea’s legislature on Tuesday, Trump mentioned South Korean golfer Park Sung-hyun’s victory at the U.S. Women’s Open, which was held at Trump’s golf course in New Jersey earlier this year.
“Korean golfers are some of the best on Earth,” Trump said. “In fact, and you know what I’m going to say, the Women’s U.S. Open was held this year at Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster, N.J., and it just happened to be won by a great Korean golfer.”
MSNBC’s Andrea Mitchell asked Albright for her reaction to Trump’s speech plugging his golf course.
“What a waste,” Albright responded.
“Maybe he should have stuck with the business he was in before,” she added.
