Ex-Marine Disrupts El Paso Memorial To Call Migrants ‘Herds’ Brought To US ‘By Sex Traffickers’

As members of a grieving community gathered at the site of a deadly terrorist attack at a Walmart in El Paso, Texas, on Wednesday, a man claiming to be a former US Marine began spouting vile anti-immigration rhetoric.

MSNBC’s Gadi Schwartz tweeted a video of the attack, writing: “Intense confrontation in front of the memorial for the 22 people killed at #ElPaso Walmart. A man identifying himself as a Former US Marine describes people migrating as herds of people brought in by sex traffickers.”

“Our people are beautiful, our culture is beautiful, and people who are migrating are beautiful,” a woman can be heard defending the Hispanic community from the man’s attacks.

“You call it migrating?” the man interrupted before launching into a racist diatribe. “When you come through, and herds of people are being brought in by sex traffickers…”

“That’s not herds. That’s ugly, that’s racist,” the woman fired back.

“Have you not seen the pictures?” the man shouted.

“You don’t even know what you’re talking about,” she countered.

“What’s a couple hundred people? That’s a herd,” the man said before a police officer stepped in to break up the heated confrontation.

In response to the attack, the El Paso Police Department tweeted: “The memorial was meant to honor the victims. Do not dishonor them by clashing against each other. Stop the hate.”
