Former CIA Director John Brennan ripped into President Trump on Saturday for his tweet attacking NBA star LeBron James and CNN’s Don Lemon, questioning what “responsible & right-thinking adult” would call the president a “role model” for America’s youth.
Brennan tweeted that Trump is having a “harmful impact” on youth in America with “lies, insults, and polarizing hate speech.”
“What responsible & right-thinking adult can point to [President Trump] as a role model for our youth?” he wrote. “Whenever he spews lies, insults, and polarizing hate speech against fellow Americans, think of its harmful impact on our young people and the way they talk, act, & treat others.”

In a tweet late Friday night, Trump attacked James’s intelligence and called Lemon the “dumbest man on television” following an interview where James said that Trump was using sports to “divide” the American people.
Lebron James was just interviewed by the dumbest man on television, Don Lemon. He made Lebron look smart, which isn’t easy to do. I like Mike!

Longtime CBS News anchor Dan Rather denounced Trump for the tweet, calling it “racist” and “the product of petty but dangerous hatreds.”
Many saw Trump’s tweet as the latest example of the president targeting black athletes, following previous feuds with NFL and NBA players.
