Rep. Mark Pocan (D-Wisc.) on Thursday ripped President Trump after he reportedly attacked immigrants from Haiti and African countries as coming from “shithole countries” on Thursday in controversial comments made during an Oval Office meeting with lawmakers, according to The Washington Post.
“The real question is why we allow presidents from sh*thole companies like the Trump Organization,” Rep. Pocan tweeted.

“Why are we having all these people from shithole countries come here?” Trump said to lawmakers while discussing protections for immigrants from several countries.
Trump reportedly suggested that the U.S. should bring in more immigrants from countries like Norway.
The White House defended Trump’s remarks in a statement, but did not deny that he made them.
“Certain Washington politicians choose to fight for foreign countries, but President Trump will always fight for the American people,” White House spokesperson Raj Shah said in a statement.
“President Trump is fighting for permanent solutions that make our country stronger by welcoming those who can contribute to our society, grow our economy and assimilate into our great nation,” the spokesman added.
In December, The New York Times reported that Trump had suggested that Haitian immigrants “all have AIDS,” and that Nigerian immigrants would never “go back to their huts” if granted entrance to the U.S.
The White House strongly denied those allegations.
The Trump administration announced earlier this month that it would end Temporary Protected Status for more than 260,000 immigrants from El Salvador.
