Former FBI Director James Comey, who was fired by President Trump earlier this year, reacted to Trump’s former national security adviser Michael Flynn’s guilty plea on Twitter and Instagram Friday, quoting a Bible verse about the virtues of justice.

Shortly after Flynn’s plea was announced, Comey posted a picture of a stream on his Instagram accompanied by the caption: “’Let justice roll on like a river, righteousness like a never-failing stream’ Amos 5:24.”
In May, Trump told NBC’s Lester Holt that he was thinking of “this Russia thing with Trump” when he decided to fire Comey, who had been leading the counterintelligence investigation into Russia’s interference in the 2016 election.
According to Comey’s testimony before the Senate Intelligence Committee shortly after his firing, President Trump told him in February that he “hoped” Comey would drop the FBI probe into Flynn. Comey said the conversation took place the day after Flynn was fired for his communications with Russian ambassador Sergei Kislyak.
Flynn pleaded guilty Friday to making false statements to FBI agents about his contacts with Russia’s ambassador. He has agreed to fully cooperate with federal prosecutors.
