‘Christmas Comes Early!’: Huckabee Sanders Celebrates CNN Boycotting White House Christmas Party

President Trump’s top spokeswoman celebrated after CNN announced that it would boycott the White House Christmas party after the Trump administration invited the network to the event, tweeting “Christmas comes early! Finally, good news from CNN.”

“In light of the President’s continued attacks on freedom of the press and CNN, we do not feel it is appropriate to celebrate with him as invited guests,” a CNN spokesperson told The Hill.

“We will send a White House reporting team to the event and report on it if news warrants.”

Trump also attacked CNN on Saturday, tweeting: “[email protected] is MUCH more important in the United States than CNN, but outside of the U.S., CNN International is still a major source of (Fake) news, and they represent our Nation to the WORLD very poorly. The outside world does not see the truth from them!”

CNN fired back: “It’s not CNN’s job to represent the U.S to the world,” the network’s public relations team tweeted. “That’s yours. Our job is to report the news. #FactsFirst.”

Trump has repeatedly attacked CNN throughout his campaign and presidency, labeling them “fake news.” Trump has often praised Fox News and its anchors like Sean Hannity for their coverage and ratings.

Twitter users noted just how inappropriate it was for the President’s spokeswoman to lower herself to such petty tweets:
