Authorities say a burglar broke into a Florida home, cooked himself an early morning meal and told the startled resident living there to “go back to sleep.”
The home’s occupant said he awoke to discover the stranger cooking and eating sometime after 4 a.m. Tuesday.
Pinellas County investigators said 19-year-old Gavin Crim, a Marine, ran from the Dunedin, Fla., home when the resident told the burglar he was calling 911, CBS 17 reported.
Deputies from the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office tracked down the suspect in a wooded and swampy area behind the home, reports Fox 13 in Tampa.
During an interview, authorities said Crim admitted to breaking into the home.
Deputies said Crim entered the home through an unlocked rear door.
His arrest report states he was under the influence of alcohol.
He was charged with felony burglary of an occupied dwelling and bonded out of the Pinellas County jail.
