‘Bored’ Trump Plays With Phone As Female Business Owner Shares Her Covid-19 Struggles

In the middle of a roundtable with small business leaders Thursday, President Trump pulled out his phone and began scrolling through it as a female business owner shared her struggles during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Trump touted the more than $670 billion he approved for the Paycheck Protection Progam, which he called a “huge success for small business.”

“We’re here to help businesses and to help people,” Trump added. “The small business owners that we have with us this afternoon all received the PPP loans and now their businesses are on the road to recovery and they’re doing really well.”

After Trump shared his remarks, several reporters tweeted videos and pictures of the president scrolling through his phone.

“Around 3:53pm, POTUS took out a phone and appeared to be scrolling through it on-and-off again as two female guests told personal stories about how PP loans had helped their small businesses. At 3:56pm, he tucked the phone back into his suit jacket pocket,” according to the White House pool report.

A few minutes after pulling out his phone, a tweet was posted to Trump’s Twitter account.
