Bill Maher Calls Out Trump’s Claim He Watched His HBO Show ‘By Accident,’ Launches Angry Twitter Tirade

President Trump took to Twitter on Saturday afternoon to take a verbal swipe at Bill Maher, calling the “Real Time” host a “wacko comedian” whose HBO show tells “so many lies.”

“Got to see, by accident, wacko comedian Bill Maher’s show — So many lies,” Trump tweeted in defense of his recent trip to El Paso, Texas, and plans for a vacation this month.

Maher soon responded in his own tweet, “I’m curious, how do you see a TV show ‘by accident’?”

Trump fired back: “Wrong! Long planned fix up of W.H., stay here rather than cause big disruption by going to Manhattan. Working almost all of the time, including evenings. Don’t have to be in W.H. to do that. And sooo many other false statements. He is right about one thing, though. I will win again in 2020. Otherwise, he pays 95% in taxes!”

Maher offered a response: “95%? That is a lot! I better keep working!” and then asked Trump to plug the comic’s upcoming appearance at The Mirage in Las Vegas.

Maher did offer to support the president’s re-election campaign — but only if Trump pulled “a total 180 on the environment.”

Former US Attorney for the Southern District of New York Preet Bharara weighed-in on Trump’s Saturday tweetstorm: “Trump is spending his time attacking Anthony Scarammuci & Bill Maher while fawning over Kim Jong Un & Vladimir Putin. God help us.”

Shortly before his Maher attacks, Trump tweeted: “In a letter to me sent by Kim Jong Un, he stated, very nicely, that he would like to meet and start negotiations as soon as the joint U.S./South Korea joint exercise are over. It was a long letter, much of it complaining about the ridiculous and expensive exercises. It was also a small apology for testing the short range missiles, and that this testing would stop when the exercises end. I look forward to seeing Kim Jong Un in the not too distant future! A nuclear free North Korea will lead to one of the most successful countries in the world!”
