In an explosive new tell-all book, former Trump adviser Steve Bannon said there was “zero chance” that President Trump didn’t know about Donald Trump Jr.’s meeting with a group of Russians during the 2016 election campaign.
According to an excerpt from Michael Wolff’s upcoming book, “Fire and Fury: Inside the Trump White House,” Bannon said that it was likely Donald Trump Jr. took lawyer Natalia Veselnitskaya and others up to his father’s office during the meeting.
“The chance that Don. Jr did not walk these Jumos up to his father’s office on the 26th floor is zero,” the excerpt reads.

Bannon’s suggestion that Trump was aware of the meeting that his son and other campaign officials fielded with Kremlin-linked Veselnitskaya, contradicts statements from White House officials who have claimed that the president was not informed about the meeting.
Bannon also ripped the president’s son; White House senior adviser Jared Kushner; and then-campaign chairman Paul Manafort for taking a June 2016 meeting with a group of Russians who promised dirt on Hillary Clinton.
“They’re going to crack Don Junior like an egg on national TV,” Bannon reportedly told author Michael Wolff, referring to the investigation into Russia’s interference in the 2016 presidential election.
“The three senior guys in the campaign thought it was a good idea to meet with a foreign government inside Trump Tower in the conference room on the 25th floor — with no lawyers. They didn’t have any lawyers,” Bannon reportedly said after news of the meeting surfaced last year.
“Even if you thought that this was not treasonous, or unpatriotic, or bad shit, and I happen to think it’s all of that, you should have called the FBI immediately,” Bannon said in his book.
