President Trump’s already historically low approval rating has sunk to a new low according to a new Associated Press/NORC Center for Public Affairs Research poll released on Friday.
Thirty-two percent of respondents said they approved of Trump’s handling of his job in office nine months into his presidency, while 67 percent of Americans polled said they disapproved.
When asked if Trump understands their needs and problems, Sixty-four percent of Americans said the president did not understand their needs “not very well” or “not very well at all.”
Just 24 percent of U.S. adults are optimistic about the country’s future, a 10-point decrease since the same poll in June.
In June, 60 percent of Republicans said they approved of the direction the country is headed in. That number has now fallen to 44 percent.
Nearly 70 percent of Americans say Trump is not a “level-headed” leader, while more than 60 percent disapprove of his handling of race relations, foreign policy, and immigration.
