More than two-thirds of Americans disapprove of how President Donald Trump is handling his job as president, according to an Associated Press/NORC poll released Thursday.
Sixty-four percent of respondents surveyed said that they don’t like how the president is handling his office, while just 35 percent approve of Trump’s performance.
The poll also found that 65 percent of Americans believe Trump has little or no respect for the country’s democratic institutions and traditions, with about 34 percent of respondents saying they believe he has a great deal or even a fair amount of respect for such institutions.
The AP poll found that 9 in every 10 Democrats and 6 in every 10 independents agreed that Trump disrespected the country’s democratic institutions. A third of Republican voters said Trump had little or no respect for democratic institutions in America.
Some other key findings:
- 64 percent of Americans said they disapprove of Trump’s handling of healthcare.
The poll surveyed 1,068 Americans from June 8 to 11.
